Overview

Lectio Pro is a browser extension that enhances the Lectio school platform. This policy explains what data the extension collects, how it is used, and what rights you have as a user.

Lectio Pro is committed to your privacy. The extension does not collect any personally identifiable information (PII) — no names, email addresses, usernames, IP addresses, or any data that could be used to identify you as an individual.

What Data Is Collected

Lectio Pro may collect non-identifiable usage data, which may include:

Which features are enabled or disabled (e.g. Palette, Alias, Pulse)
Interaction patterns with extension UI elements (e.g. which panels are opened)
Error and crash reports
General performance metrics (e.g. load times)
Browser type and version

This data is aggregate and anonymous by design. It cannot be linked back to any individual user.

What Data Is NOT Collected

Lectio Pro does not collect:

Your name, email address, or any other personal identifiers
Your Lectio username or school affiliation
Your schedule, assignments, grades, messages, or any content from Lectio
Your IP address or geolocation
Cookies or authentication tokens
Browsing history outside of the Lectio platform

How Data Is Used

Any non-identifiable data collected is used solely to:

Understand how features are being used in order to improve the extension
Identify and fix bugs or performance issues
Inform future development priorities

Data is never sold, shared with third parties, or used for advertising purposes.

Data Storage and Retention

Non-identifiable usage data may be stored temporarily for analysis purposes and is deleted on a rolling basis. No data is stored locally on your device beyond what is necessary for the extension to function (e.g. your saved preferences via chrome.storage.local).

Your local extension preferences (such as theme settings or enabled features) are stored only on your own device using the browser’s built-in storage API and are never transmitted.

Third-Party Services

Lectio Pro uses Google Analytics to collect anonymous usage data. Google Analytics may collect information such as:

Pages or views within the extension
Feature interactions and events
Browser type and version
General session information (e.g. session duration)

Google Analytics does not receive any personally identifiable information from Lectio Pro. IP anonymization is enabled, meaning your IP address is truncated before any data is stored by Google.

Google’s data collection is governed by the Google Privacy Policy. You can opt out of Google Analytics tracking across all websites and extensions using the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.

Lectio Pro does not use any other third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking services.

Changes to This Policy

This privacy policy may be updated from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated date at the top. Continued use of the extension after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
